Paying better attention is only part of it.

We’re here to help people do great things.

The Affinity Center is an innovative Cincinnati-based center for the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of adults and children with Attention, Behavior, Learning, and Mood disorders, specializing in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Since 1996, we have been privileged to work with thousands of clients and their families in the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio area. The Affinity Center was created in response to a growing demand throughout the community — and the country — for humane treatment for adults with ADHD. Over the years, our center has grown in the comprehensive treatment of adults, children, and adolescents with ADHD and other mood disorders.

We stand apart from many alternative treatment centers with our collaborative treatment model. Our clinical team of mental health providers and medical prescribers work together to ensure each client is receiving the highest level of care.

What is ADHD?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a complex neuropsychological condition that is known to affect focus and impulse control, but can have far-reaching symptoms, including:

  • Memory challenges

  • Poor hygiene

  • Choice paralysis

  • Inability to complete tasks

  • Sleep issues

  • Difficulty maintaining relationships

  • Trouble regulating emotions

  • Executive functioning deficits

  • Sensory processing issues

  • Anxiety

  • Hyperfixation

  • Mood swings

  • Depression

Left untreated, children and adults can struggle with school and work performance, as well as maintaining meaningful relationships, managing finances, and achieving ongoing physical and mental well-being.

We are here to help!

The Affinity Center provides a pathway to treatment designed to provide you with the best possible care — whatever is bringing you to therapy.

DIAGNOSTIC CONSULTATIONS

Diagnostic consultations are the first step in creating a treatment plan, customized for you or your child’s unique needs and strengths. Every client starts here, so we can better understand your needs and goals. Each new client will be assigned to a member of our clinical team for your initial appointment. At the end of this visit, your clinician will work with you to schedule testing, if appropriate, and/or an initial therapy appointment.

THERAPY

Every new client will establish an ongoing therapy relationship with your clinician. Clients seeking medication will be asked to schedule with both a therapist and medication provider throughout your treatment.

COMPREHENSIVE TESTING SERVICES

We offer a wide range of testing for children, adolescents, and adults for ADHD and other mental disorders. Testing can be scheduled at the beginning of your treatment, or as needed throughout the treatment process. After your initial consultation, your clinician will provide you with your plan for testing, as well as costs associated with your individual testing needs.

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT

Our team of experienced medical professionals work closely with our clinical staff to ensure we can provide safe and effective medications for our clients. Proper medication management can be the single most effective component of a comprehensive treatment approach. Once testing is complete (or approved test results from an outside source have been received) and therapy has begun, your clinican will have you scheduled for an initial medication evaluation appointment. In most cases, patients will begin a medication trial immediately following and will schedule appointments as directed to ensure timely and thorough follow-up is received.

Adequate levels of attention are important for learning, organization, memory, managing emotions, and effective communication. As a result, children and adults with ADHD may find that attention-based struggles impact their ability to regulate their activity levels, manage day-to-day responsibilities, achieve long-term goals, or put the “brakes” on their impulsivity.

If you or your child are experiencing these challenges, you’re not alone.

The Affinity Center is here to help with expert-level care for adults and children aged six and older through comprehensive evaluation, consultation, therapy, and medication management interventions for ADHD.
