For Adults

Because many of its symptoms are often mistaken for personal or business related stress, many adults are living with Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and may not realize it. ADHD is often believed to be a childhood disorder, yet it is estimated that as many as 7 percent of adults have the disorder. It is often undiagnosed because the adult may have achieved success in school or their career, and therefore it is believed that the symptoms are not ADHD. As adults we often develop coping strategies as children and have gone on to achieve success. This is not, however, always the best formula for addressing Adult ADHD. Untreated ADHD can cause difficulty in our friendships, marital or family relationships, creates difficulty working in teams in the workplace, often challenging our self-esteem, and has broad implications for our overall health.

The Affinity Center offers individualized treatment for the Adult with ADHD. This begins with a diagnosis, which is achieved through both physical and psychological evaluations, discussion, and testing. Help is available and you are not alone.
